How to Use Google Analytics for Analyzing our Traffic

What service do you use to analyze your blog traffic? is it FeedJit live traffic? Sitemeter traffic counter? or anything else? And what you get from those service? Yes, you only get a little amount of information about the traffic of your blog. So, why getting an enormous amount of information about the traffic of our blog is necessary for us? Well, there are so many answers such as we can set our goal (the amount of traffic we want to achieve), we can improve our SEO or SERP, even we can maximize our AdSense Earning! Thus, this time i give you a little basic knowledge of using Google Analytics (for blogspot user only!)

::. Step-by-Step

1. Sign Up
   Yes, just like the other services, we need to sign up first to get our unique identity to log in. Go to Google Analytics, click the sign up button. But, if you already have a google account use your email and password to sign in. Next, you will be brought to a window which allow you to insert the URL of your blog you want to analyze. Also give the blog account name which is easy for you to remember. Notice that you can also analyze more than one blog with google analytics. Next step is select the country your site based in, and select the appropriate time zone. Click continue, in the next window give your contact information and click continue. Click Yes to show them that you agree with Google Terms of Service. Click Create New Account.
2. Insert Google Analytics code to Your Blog
   Find the </body> tag, and put your Google Analytics code above that tag. Save your template.
   Keep in mind each time you change your blog template, each time you change your blog template, you should copy paste your Analytics code to your new HTML code again.

There are so many things provided by Google Analytics, with it you can easily check how many visitors you reach per day, where do they come from, or which content of your blog is the most popular. And I will give you a little explanation about getting an overview about your blog traffic.

2. Once, you will see the overview of your account. click the link and you will be brought to the advance mode.

Windows Registry Tricks

It's been a long time for me did not share any computer tricks in here. Recently mytheory only focus on SERP or SEO content. And for an intermezzo, i would like to give you some computer tricks and i'm going to talk about Registry Tricks. Check it out!

::. Backup Registry

Before doing some of these tricks you better backup your Registry first. How to backup Registry? emm,it's pretty easy actually,simply go to Regedit (click start-Run-type 'regedit' - click OK), click File-Export and save it anywhere (but don't forget where you save it) and you can name it anything you want

  

 

 

::. Registry Edit

I will tell you some useful tricks about Registry Windows which is simple to do, but you have to pay attention carefully because if you miss the procedure or even doing something wrong, it can be harmful..... but you can use your Backup to fix your Registry, Okay so here we go:

1. Automatically close Non-Responding Application on Shutdown
   Go to Regedit (Start-Run-regedit); Look at the left pane, click HKEY USERS , and select DEFAULT branch, expand the Control Panel branch,and select Desktop. On the right pane double click on AutoEndTasks, once you see a dialog box consist of Value Name and Value Data. Now, change the value data to 1 to automatically end tasks when computer Shutdown, otherwise, 0 means prompt user for an action.
    
2. Speed up menu Display
   Start/Run/Regedit
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop ; look at the right pane, select 'MenuShowDelay' right click on it click modify and set the value by 100 . Restart the computer.
3. Restrict User from Running Specific Application
   Go to regedit; on the left pane: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer. Value Name: DisallowRun
   [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] Create a new DWORD value and name it "DisallowRun" set the value to "1" to enable application restrictions or "0" to allow all applications to run. Then create a new sub-key called [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ Explorer\DisallowRun] and define the applications the are to be restricted. Creating a new string value for each application, named as consecutive numbers, and setting the value to the filename to be restriced (e.g. "regedit.exe"). Restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
4. Automatically Windows Refresh
   Start/Run/Regedit
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update. Value Name: UpdateMode, Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value), Value Data: default = 1. Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, named "UpdateMode" and set it to equal "0" for faster updates. Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
5. Enable DVD player in Media Player
   Start/Run/Regedit
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings. Value Name: EnableDVDUI, Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value), Value Data: yes or no. Create a new string value called "EnableDVDUI" and set it to "yes" to enable DVD functionality.

So, after you done with those tricks you need to restart your computer to see the result. Good luck !!

Adding Meta Tags (SEO Part II)

Mytheory try to find what topic about SEO i want to share with my loyal readers this time. And I got this topic: Adding Meta tags great for your SEO. Yup, we will discuss this topic this time as a part of SEO series which i give to you to help increasing visitors to your blog. I realize that many blogger have already known how exactly adding meta tags. But, i still want to share my knowledge to help newbie blogger. Besides, i will not only tell you the procedure about how to add meta tags to your blog, but i will also reveal the most frequent mistake found when choosing meta tags. So let's go to the case!

::. Introduction

In summary SEO consist of 3 major points :

1. Title (including meta tags)
2. Backlinks
3. Keywords (including meta tags)

You see that meta tags are playing very important role. What is meta tags? Well, meta tags are collection of information which is exist inside HTML code of your blog. The use of meta tags is helping search engine to know what is your blog or web telling about. So, if you have a correct and accurate meta tags stick in your blog you are in way of achieving higher rank on Search Engine Result Position. And it's really good for your traffic!

::. Adding meta tags

1. First of all, go to http://tools.seobook.com/meta-medic/
   it helps you compiling HTML code for your meta tags.
2. Fill the title box with your blog title; example: All computer tips, or Electronic blog
3. Type your blog description in Description box, and fill the keywords box with your blog keywords.
4. Click "Create Meta Tags"
5. Sign in to your blog account. Go to dashboard menu,go to layout and select EditHTML menu.
6. Copy the meta tags HTML code you have made before and paste it below <title></title> tag
   
7. Don't forget to add / (slash) before the last character of each row of your meta tags code. So it should look like this:
   
8. Click "Save Template"

::. Give attention !!

There are certain things you should consider when you try to create meta tags:

1. Title
   When creating your blog title, it should not look like this:
   > Welcome to my blog! or
   > How to make money online and how to get rich in 30 days
   The first title is completely horrible, because it doesn't reflect what the content of your blog
   The second title contains too many characters although it contains many keywords, but we should try the short ones like this:
   > Make money online | Get rich shortly
   title above is the perfect one.
2. Keywords
   Try as best as possible when you are creating your keywords for your blog. Choose good keywords which reflect the main content of your blog. Once you found the best keywords, sometimes you have to spread the keywords on your posting as i have explained in past posting. If you have not read yet, you can read it here.
3. Description
   Describe what is your blog telling about. Describe as well as possible to search engine what is the content of your blog.
4. Consistent!!!
   Once you have added meta tags to your blog, you have to be consistent with those tags. Don't ever think to change it unless your tags is still new. Changing meta tags could make the search engines spiders confused with your page, and it's not good for your blog. So keep consistent!

P.S : don't forget to re-add your meta tags when you change your blog template. The procedure is just the same.

How to add Different Meta tags in Different blogger posts

Many blogger who use BLOGSPOT service for their blog platform (like me ;) ) feel disappointed when they can't put different Meta tags in different blogger posts, on the other hand,Wordpress user can do this(add different Meta tags in different posts) so easily with SEO tools or something like that which wordpress provides. But, no need to worry about that,or even thinking to change your blogspot become Wordpress or something else. Just follow my tips explained below,and you can add different Meta tags in Different blogger Posts.

::. What's the benefit or the use of adding different meta tags in different posts?

I told you that it is very useful especially for SEO(Search Engine Optimation) and SERP(Search Engine Result Page). By adding different meta tags in each posts, search engines can easily understand the content of your postings individually. Otherwise,when we only use the same meta tags to all posts in our blog,it is not optimal for our SEO process.

::. How to add Different Meta tags in Different blogger posts?

Don't think that this procedure is difficult to attempt or pratice,it is completely easy:

1. First,you need to sign in to Blogger.com
2. After you sign in;on the dashboard,click Layout -> Edit HTML
3. Next,keep your eyes open and find this line:

   <b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>

4. And you can add this code,just below that line above:

   <b:if cond='data:blog.url == "http://www.ezpctips.blogspot.com/"'> <meta content='DESCRIPTION' name='description'/> <meta content='KEYWORDS' name='keywords'/> </b:if>

5. So, the HTML code of your template should be looked like this:
   
   
   
6. Look, those three line that you have added before is used to add meta tags to your homepage.(change the http://www.ezpctips.blogspot.com become your blog URL.
7. And now we attempt to add different meta tags(including meta description and keywords) on different posts. For example i want to add meta tags for my http://www.ezpctips.blogspot.com/2008/04/11/SG-TCP-Optimizer.html
8. What you have to do is copy-pasting those three lines (which you have added before) below the present code and change the link,description,and also the keywords that suite to your posts content. So, the HTML code should look like this:

9. And if you want to add another meta tags to other postings,just do the same easy procedures explained above.
